Don't waste your time donating books to the Cobb County library!

Do you 'donate' your once read books to the Cobb County Library?

Once I did, not anymore.

Donated books in mint condition are shown here "For Sale", $3-5 each.

I suspect that those people who donated expected that their books would be added to the local library collection so that others could read them.  This is particularly true in the small Kennesaw Library which needs decent and up to date books.

Here brand new donated books are not added to the stacks but are put up for sale.

Have some books you are finished with?  Find a hospital, jail, prison etc and donate them there - don't waste your time donating them to the Cobb County Library!

Nothing changes, books pile up unread

Months have passed and the nonsense of keeping 8-13 books of the same title at the Regional Library continues.

When such large numbers of books end up on the shelves of the various Regional Libraries then it is time to send some of the overage out to the community libraries, there is not a hope in heck that there is going to be a rush on any of those books that have 8-13 copies on hand. The only thing these books due is to collect dust.

Let's get them out to the smaller libraries where they have a chance of being read.

The way it is done now wastes our tax dollars and if the brass downtown can't figure this out then it is time for some of them to retire and let someone with common sense take their positions.  In this economy we should be cutting the top administrators pay and using the money to run the libraries.
